Having just purchased a house in Elk Point, one of the home inspector’s recommendations was to install window wells. After speaking to my real estate agent to get a recommendation, I called Shygera Property Works.
First, I want to thank Mick – the company owner for his incredible patience. He wanted to get a rough idea of the work to be done but due to the tenants renting the house not having vacated the premises, it wasn’t immediately possible. Once we took final possession, Mick dropped by to get acquainted and look over the task we needed help with.
Second, this company is responsive and communicates clearly, responding within at most a couple of days. Mick has a range of work and mine wasn’t the most urgent. He ensures that the clients are kept informed of progress and is meticulous in clearing up after the day’s work and the job is complete.
Mick provided an estimate of the costs and even then did additional research. I had requested the metal window wells (those are what I am familiar with) but Mick recommended a different solution and explained exactly what the reasons were. The window wells we needed were longer than the 1.5 meter normal dimension. At over double that length, they would have buckled from the pressure of the soil over time. Instead, Mick installed a heavy duty wood frame that is lined with material to protect against rotting. and water penetration.
Finally, the entire process was done in two days. From the removal of an overgrown coniferous shrub with a large root ball, to excavating the window well, to assembling the framing, Mick and his sons did the entire job within the quoted price. We were fortunate – there were no unexpected “gotchas” – which occur frequently with estimates.
We will be using Shygera Property Works for several more upcoming projects. My brother and I can recommend Mick’s company without any hesitation.
